Algiers International Film Festival

2nd Edition — December 7–11, 2026

 

Applications for the 2026 edition of CineMarket are open to October 20!

For its second edition, CineMarket is focusing its call for projects on  the decisive stage of film completion, through its post-production support programme for short and feature films.

Tailored Professional Support

Selected project representatives will benefit from advice and one-to-one meetings with recognised film professionals from Algeria and abroad. This support is designed to provide creators with the best possible conditions to complete and promote their works, while facilitating their integration into professional networks.

Rooted in Algerian Filmmaking

Supported projects must be produced primarily with the involvement of Algerian writers, lead actors, technicians and creative collaborators. This requirement reflects CineMarket’s commitment to promoting national expertise and sustainably strengthening the local film ecosystem.

CineMarket aims to encourage professional networking around projects in post-production, while promoting the sale, acquisition, production, co-production and distribution of film and audiovisual works.

CINEMARKET REGULATIONS – AIFF 2026

Article 1 – General Presentation

CineMarket, the professional market of the Algiers International Film Festival, will take place from December 7 to 11, 2026, at Office Riadh El Feth – Level 102, as part of the 13th edition of the Algiers International Film Festival.

Article 2 – Eligibility for the Post-Production Support Programme

The support programme is open to national production companies for films currently in the completion stage, with picture lock being mandatory, across all genres:

  • Short film: 5 to 59 minutes
  • Feature film: 60 minutes or more
  • Eligible genres:Fiction, Documentary, Animation

The filmmaker and the production team of the selected project must travel to Algiers to present the work.

Article 3 – Application Requirements

Each submission must include the following documents:

  • A director’s and producer’s statement of intent.
  • A bio-filmography of the filmmaker.
  • A post-production statement detailing the technical needs already covered and those still outstanding.
  • A provisional post-production and completion schedule.
  • Copyright assignment agreements for the production company.
  • Co-production agreements, where applicable.
  • CV(s) of the filmmaker(s).
  • CV of the applying production company and its co-producers.
  • CV(s) of the composer(s).
  • Opening and closing credits in text format.
  • Double-sided copy of the filmmaker(s)’ identification document.
  • Double-sided copy of the composer(s)’ identification document.

Article 4 – Participation Procedures and Schedule

To participate and submit a project, professionals must complete the official online application form available at ONLINE SUBMISSION 

Participation and accreditation are free of charge for this edition.

  • Submission deadline:October 20, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Algiers time)

Article 5 – Project Selection

CineMarket will select 10 post-production projects. The Algiers International Film Festival will provide full accommodation and logistical support for the representatives of the ten selected projects who reside outside Algiers.

The selected film projects will be presented through screenings and discussions between the candidates and the jury over two days, Thursday, December 10 and Friday, December 11, 2026, in Algiers.

These screenings and discussions are open to accredited professionals attending the festival. They are not open to the general public.

The Jury will award two prizes:

  • Best Feature Film Post-Production Award
  • Best Short Film Post-Production Award

Article 6 – Eligible Market Participants

CineMarket is exclusively reserved for accredited film and audiovisual professionals:

  • Screenwriters
  • Directors
  • Producers
  • Representatives of film and audiovisual projects
  • Post-production facilities and laboratories
  • Distribution platforms and television channels
  • Representatives of institutions and industry partners

Article 7 – Selected Projects and Screenings

Projects must strictly comply with copyright law and be free of any legal obligations that could prevent their completion or presentation.

The official selection is determined by the Artistic Director and the Selection Committee.

Work-in-progress screenings and discussions are strictly reserved for accredited professionals and are not open to the general public.

Selected projects will be included in the festival’s official catalogue.

Any exceptional private screening requires the express authorization of the Artistic Director.
