Launch of the Call for Applications 2nd Edition of CineMarket (13AIFF 2026)

PRESS RELEASE

Launch of the Call for Applications 2nd Edition of CineMarket (13AIFF 2026)
Targeted Support for Algerian Film Post-Production

Algiers, September 12, 2026 — Held under the patronage and auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Arts, the Algiers International Film Festival (AIFF), taking place from December 5 to 12, 2026, announces the opening of calls for applications for the second edition of its professional space, CineMarket, scheduled for December 7 to 11, 2026, at the Office Riadh El Feth.

Initiated in 2025, CineMarket aims to structure and provide long-term support to the national film industry. Its mission is to boost local cultural employment, facilitate co-productions, and initiate the creation of a heritage catalog of film works intended for national and international acclaim.

For this 2026 edition, the initiative focuses its support on the crucial stage of post-production (picture lock) for short and feature narrative films, documentaries, and animation projects spearheaded by national production companies.

Ten projects will be selected to receive tailored support, including full coverage of accommodation and stay expenses for project holders residing outside Algiers. Pitching sessions and deliberations will take place on December 10 and 11 before a professional jury, which will award two completion grants.

As a reminder, during the first edition in 2025, ten projects were selected and two winners received support: screenwriter and producer Sarah Bertima for narrative film, and author-director Djamel Lekhal for documentary.
